Remember some months ago, when I mentioned I’d be writing an occasional column for the Dallas Morning News called “Cheap Date,” in which I’d take some lucky woman out on the town for $30 or less?
Well, the first piece ran some months ago. The second is in today’s paper. (So what if the date in question took place back in August? At least the woman in question can still stand me.)
All movie monsters should be as laid-back as the one in "Flesh Gordon."
or you could just get married and dates wouldn't cost you a dime!
I wish I could do a column like that at my paper. I doubt it would fly, because we're a "wholesome family newspaper." I also don't live anywhere near my coverage area (thankfully!) and would be more likely to have Manhattan dates. Who wants to hang in Jersey anyway?
Is Cheap Date really unfit for a family newspaper? Yeah, there was a porn reference this time, but that's not the norm. I think any paper could run something like it.
