Here’s my story from today’s paper, on how Dallas schools have more than twice as many unqualified teachers than any other large Texas school system.

So let's wonder why this district attracts so many 'unqualified' teachers. Then, let's shed a tear for the poor souls who get sucked in, and don't have the heart to leave, such poor working conditions. Those 'qualified' teachers know better than to work in districts like Dallas.

(FWIW, I have met those NCLB guidelines for 'highly qualified' but this gives me no false airs about my abilities. Like most measures of efficacy in public schools these surveys are complete bullshit.)
